Matsuda Matsuhiro was one of the pioneers of the fashion industry in Japan, creating, together with other designers (Junko Koshino, Yukiko Hanai, Isao Kaneko, Takeo Kikuchi and Kansai Yamamoto), the Tokyo Six of Designers in 1974. He presented his collections on the international stage in New York and Paris in the eighties, and his label Nicole is still widely represented in Japan. Probably more than any other designer, Matsuda spent a lot of time designing glasses thanks to his Japanese sensuality and high-tech pop aesthetic. His vintage eyewear remains iconic collectibles for connoisseurs.
