Yohji Yamamoto is truly one of the godfathers of contemporary Japanese fashion. Long before his Y-3 collaboration with adidas, Yamamoto designed an epic line of eyewear in the 1980s. He teamed up with Murai Japan, the producer of the legendary Jean Paul Gaultier eyewear line, and from this collaboration, some of the most beautiful pieces of the era were born. The 52 4109 is a perfect example for Yamamotos boundless creativity combined up with Murai's unique craftsmanship.
The 4109 pays homage to the soda and beer can pins like they used to make them before in 90s. On both sides of the front, the lens is firmly held together by the old-school can pins that were abolished in 1990s. A perfect complement to an already amazingly elegant frame.
