Carrera 5590

Vintage frame Carrera 5590, cherry blossom frame and lenses, unique system of extending temples with a screw element near the Carrera lettering. The minimum adjustable shackle length is 130 mm, the maximum is 145 mm. 5590 is the earliest classic Carrera frame from the 1980s. Featured in countless cult films and worn by many celebrities over the past decades, the 5590 has become a part of pop culture. Initially, Carrera focused on sportswear sunglasses. Thanks in large part to Don Johnson and his now legendary Carrera 5512 sunglasses from the iconic Miami POL series, the company's glasses have become the epitome of sporting functionality and a stylish lifestyle.

For half a century, the Carrera brand has been a leader in sports ski goggles. Its history began in 1956 and was further improved. 40 years later, Carrera joined the Safilo corporation, then the leader in the production of custom-made sunglasses and frames.

Of the main advantages of the Carrera brand and ski goggles of its production, it is worth highlighting a special thermoactive material, which is 20% lighter than other thermoplastics. Its use guarantees elasticity and dimensional stability. The raw material patented in 1964 was named Optyl.
