Cartier Vendome Laque

Cartier Vendome Laque luxury frame in classic style, made of 22ct gold. This model was restored - lenses were replaced, parts of the frame were soldered, the condition became excellent vintage - NOS. The Vendome Laque model was produced from 1983 to 1997. Laque got its name from the coating of gum (the juice of some tree species, when applied to the surface, hardens very quickly due to the formation of a resistant film in the air (known as “Chinese” or “Japanese” varnish).

The first Cartier frame appeared in 1897. She looked luxurious and sophisticated. The frames of those times were made of precious metals and were encrusted with diamonds.

Today, Cartier frames remain a sign of wealth and luxury, although they have changed in the past century. However, modernist and futuristic trends failed to influence the style as a whole, they began to be made from more accessible materials. For example, the temples use the Flex-system, a complex spring structure that can be used to open the temples by more than 100°. That is, it is impossible to accidentally break or deform the frame.
